The puzzling, fascinating surface of Jupiter’s icy moon Europa looms large in this newly-reprocessed color view, made from images taken by NASA’s Galileo spacecraft in the late 1990s. This is the color view of Europa from Galileo that shows the largest portion of the moon’s surface at the highest resolution. – NASA / Jet Propulsion Lab-Caltech / SETI Institute

Is NASA not worried about contaminating Europea? NASA are extremely cautious about contamination of Earth-based life on Mars, so with regards to Europa I doubt they will send anything like a submarine to explore the oceans, as I don’t see how they can really guarantee we won’t contaminate the place. If we do contaminate it with life from Earth the results sould be catastrophic to any existing life.
