Going DEEP on the Crescent Nebula (Astrophotography)
The Crescent Nebula, NGC 6888, is an emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus, 5000 light-years from Earth. It is formed by the fast stellar wind from a Wolf-Rayet star colliding with and energizing the slower moving wind ejected by the star when it became a red giant around thousands of years ago. Please subscribe and follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/chucksastrophotography/ I used narrowband filters and put 'Ha' in the Red Channel and 'OIII' in the Green and Blue Channels. 7 Astrophotography MISTAKES Beginners Make
In this video, I cover all of the mistakes I MADE when I started astrophotography, some as recent as last year! Here is a list of mistakes I have made over the years: 1. Not starting with a compact, wide-field telescope
2. Not choosing a smart target for your gear and location
3. Not utilizing narrowband filters with your camera
4. Over-analyzing your autoguiding graph
5. Not dithering your images between each frame
6. Not using camera control software
7. Not processing color images channel by channel All of these astrophotography tips helped me capture and process better images. I hope you find at least one of them helpful to advance your progress! My Image Processing Guide: https://sellfy.com/p/0zsyyq/

Sequence Generator Pro Flats Frames | Astrophotography
The Sequence Generator Pro Flats Frame Calibration Wizard helps anyone with a flat box or flat panel take properly exposed flat frames for astrophotography. The initial setup is tricky, but I take you step-by-step through a full calibration run and then add the flats to a new sequence for M45! Without flat frames, your astrophotos may have odd gradient rings, and dark corners. Flat frames smooth out the light gradients so the final photo looks much more professional. Sequence Generator pro Flat Frames are easy enough to include in any imaging sequence. If you have the means to take flat frames, there is no reason why you shouldn't calibrate them in SGP first, and include them with every new sequence you do! How to get the best from the last Milky Way of the year! | Milky Way Wednesday REPLAY
2020 Milky Way Photography Workshops: http://bit.ly/2ma2Uai Sadly it is the end of the Milky Way Photography season and our Milky Way Core is going to hide during daytime all throughout December. So what do we do now here in October and November to get the best out of our final Milky Way images of 2019? In tonight's Milky Way Wednesday replay from last year, I help you answer TWO MAJOR questions: When to go out AND Will anything block your view. I explain the process of using PhotoPills Pin-to-Pin Geodetic Info to know precisely if the location you have in mind will block the Milky Way Core from being seen. NOTE: I will NOT be around for tonight's premiere! Sadly you guys will have to chat amongst yourselves. I will see you next week though! 😀 -Aaron #MilkyWayPhotography #NovemberMilkyWay #Photography Are you a Milky Way Photographer? Want to prove you are a Master? Join us at MilkyWayPhotographers.com! Imaging the Black Hole of M87 Using Radio Astronomy. By Ric Honey
In April, 2019 scientists shocked the world by publishing the first-ever image of a black hole! In this case- the supermassive black hole at the center of the elliptical galaxy M87, some 55 million light years away. In this talk, Ric Honey- electrical engineer, ham radio operator, and long-time amateur astronomer- discusses some of the techniques used to image the black hole of M87. Radio Astronomy gave birth to the image processing and interferometry techniques that enabled the imaging of the black hole. Ric introduces you to some fundamentals of astronomy in parts of the Electromagnetic Spectrum not visible to the human eye, and why observations at these other frequencies have enhanced our understanding of the Universe. Capturing the Heart Nebula Once and For All (Astrophotography)
The Heart Nebula lies some 7500 light years away from Earth and is located in the Perseus Arm of the Milky Way in the constellation Cassiopeia. This is an emission nebula showing glowing ionized hydrogen gas and darker dust lanes. I've captured the Heart Nebula before, but this time I wanted to add it to my collection of 'Once and For All' images that I will be satisfied with for years to come - I hope. It's captured using Optolong narrowband filters and processed in the Hubble Palette. Switching to a cooled CCD/CMOS Camera: 5 Things we wish we knew before imaging
Written post: https://www.galactic-hunter.com/post/dslr_to_ccd_camera
Here are 5 tips for people who just bought a cooled Astrophotography camera and are not familiar with what's new with it compared to their DSLR camera.
1) Gain and Binning: 2 new settings
2) Filters and how to use them (LRGBHaSIIOIII)
3) Needs its own power supply
4) Letting it cool down all the way before starting imaging
5) How to attach it in relation to the filter wheel, telescope and adapter Like our channel? Click here if you would like to support us and make an impact on Galactic Hunter: https://www.patreon.com/Galactic_Hunter

RASA 11 - The Power of Astroimaging at f/2
Capturing impressive deep-sky astroimages is easier than ever with Celestron’s new Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph, the perfect companion to today’s top DSLR or astronomical CCD cameras. This fast, wide-field f/2.2 system offers two huge advantages over traditional f/10 astroimaging: better apparent tracking and shorter exposures. That means you’ll create better-looking astroimages in a fraction of the time, even without the use of an autoguider.

Would my images STILL look good w/ the EXACT SAME EDITS? | Milky Way Wednesday Every Wk @ 7PM MT
TONIGHT on Milky Way Wednesday!
● Astro Primer for Aug. 21st - Aug. 28th
● Re-Editing ALL of my Favorites with the SAME edits
● COW How presets Work
● Tool of the Trade - Balloon Lights (YES I will remember this time!) What if I took my 2018 Salt Flats image and applied the edits I did to a 2017 Escalante image? What if I took my 2019 Island in the Sky image and gave IT the edits from the Salt Flats? How does the sky change? How does the color change? Will it be that much different? Join me tonight at 7pm Mountain Time! #MilkyWayPhotography #MilkyWayWednesday #PostProcessing Support us: https://www.patreon.com/photogadventures Thanks for watching and see you next time! This DSLR Ha Filter Can Improve YOUR Astrophotography
Clip-in H-Alpha Filter for your DSLR The Astronomik 12nm H-alpha filter is a great way to collect isolated wavelengths of light in hydrogen-alpha. Detailed Review ▶ https://astrobackyard.com/dslr-ha-filter/
Astronomik 12nm Ha Filter (Canon) ▶ http://bit.ly/2nyKOQ7 This filter lets you capture astrophotography images under bright moonlight, and create captivating images with small stars in h-alpha. The image can later be added to existing full-color projects, or stand-alone is a dramatic deep-sky portrait in black and white. A modified DSLR camera (full spectrum modification) will allow even more h-alpha signal to reach the sensor, but a stock camera can also benefit from a hydrogen-alpha filter. In this video, I share a number of example images using a clip-in Hα filter on my Canon EOS Rebel T3i DSLR camera using camera lenses and telescopes.

PixInsight vs 2019 5k iMac with 8 CPU cores! Ft. M8 Lagoon Nebula
Not flexing, just an insane demo about how the new iMacs multicore cpus (and 16mb graphics card) just eats up the resources that PixInsight uses to process images. I also share the last couple of nights astrophotography work with the Celestron RASA 8 telescope and the M8 Lagoon nebula! Thanks to Bintel for sponsoring this video! www.bintel.com.au (Also if you're wondering why my skin is so messed up sometimes it's because I have allergies the mess it up for about 2 weeks after exposure ... but meh 🤷🏽♂️ the show must go on! ) Dylan’s gear in this video
