The Making of The Cave Nebula Image
Eric Coles will demonstrate processing on his APOD winning Cave Nebula image. He will do both the Hubble Palette image, the RGB and enhanced HRGB image. The processing would be done live starting from the stacked linear images to the final published images. The Hubble Palette image would be done using tone mapping. The RGB image would be done in a standard way, with the addition of enhancing the detail with H-alpha data and enhancing the red emission region also with H-alpha data. Those two final steps are what makes the final image really pop. There will also be some discussion of image framing.
