Gateway Lunar Outpost Animation
NASA's Lunar Gateway Is Being Skipped In The Race To The Moon
About 2 weeks ago NASA human spaceflight managers announced that the Lunar Gateway was no longer part of the plans of lunar landing targetted for 2024. The Lunar Gateway is a small space station in a loosely bound orbit near the moon, that can act as a staging site for mission to both the Moon and Mars. Up till now the plan was to have Orion dock there and take a lander to the surface of the moon, but I speculate that the new plan will involve Boeing launching the whole mission on 2 Upgraded SLS rockets.
Why NASA wants to build a space station around the Moon | NASA Gateway, SLS and Artemis
Gateway is NASA's most ambitious project yet, so how to they plan to get a space station around the Moon? And why have one there in the first place? SLS, Artemis and Gateway.

What Will NASA's Lunar Gateway Habitat Look Like?
Future in Space Hangouts are sponsored by the American Astronautical Society, consider becoming member: https://astronautical.org/member A critical part of NASA's plan to get to Mars and the Moon include the development and construction of a gateway that will support lunar and Mars exploration in the coming years. The technology and experience gained building and using the gateway will offer a major improvement to our current space capabilities. One crucial module on the gateway is the habitat that will house human beings. NASA contractor Northrop-Grumman is tasked with designing and building the gateway habitat, tune in for our discussion and learn about the capabilities and status of this important component of human space exploration. NASA’s $30 Billion Moon Return Mission, Explained | Beyond Earth
NASA announced its returned mission to the moon by 2024, titled Artemis it will cost an estimated $20-$30 billion. They plan to go to the moon in their SLS mega-rocket and begin building a lunar gateway. The mission will focus on the possibilities of mining resources on the moon, including water for rocket fuel and will lead to future deep space travel and lunar bases in what can be considered the new era of space exploration. At least, that’s the claim made by NASA’s administrator Jim Bridenstine, who says he’s not interested in just leaving “flags and footprints” on the lunar surface. " How to Build a Moon Base

NASA's New Plans To Land Humans On The Moon In 10 Years
NASA has flipped and flopped between the Moon and Mars for the last few decades, and now they're back looking at the Moon as the logical target to move beyond Low Earth Orbit. This week they called on industry partners to design new spacecraft to put humans on the surface of the moon with a goal being to do this by 2028.
Designing a tiny home to orbit the Moon
NASA wants to build another space station — except this one won’t live in a close orbit around Earth. Instead, it will be sent into deep space to orbit around the moon and then someday…Mars. Within the last year, NASA has begun planning for a much smaller astronaut outpost, a new destination dubbed the Gateway. The idea is for this space station to serve as a place for astronauts to live and train for excursions to and from the lunar surface. In this episode of Space Craft, Loren Grush heads to Lockheed Martin to visit a mockup of one of these space habitats and see what living in it might actually feel like.
