A Mars base simulator has opened today to 100 school students on a five-hour tour. The camp sits in the middle of China's Gobi desert and plans open to tourists in the next year. The students tried on Martian suits, explored the greenhouse and explored the living quarters that is part of the 574,039 square feet (53,330 square meter) complex named Mars Base 1. Constructed in the stark, barren terrain of China’s northwestern province of Gansu, the “Mars Base 1” facility was built by Chinese company C-SPACE.
